Many people would dismiss the idea of non-alcoholic wine without even trying it. If it’s not alcoholic, is it even wine? You would be surprised! There’s plenty of non-alcoholic wines out there that are just as good as their alcoholic counterparts. This is our pick of the best three non-alcoholic wines that are currently available. Why not try them out for yourself?
Why non-alcoholic wine?
It’s a good question. Wine has long been touted as having many health benefits, thanks to the high number of anti oxidants found in it. What people don’t know, though, is that those anti oxidants are also found in non-alcoholic wine.
There are other reasons to drink it, though. If you’re watching your weight, it’s found to consistently have less calories than traditional wines. Also, with charity initiatives that ask participants to give up alcohol for a certain period of time, it’s great to have an alternative available That way, you’re not feeling left out when you’re out with friends.
Eisberg Alcohol Free Rose Wine
This wine is harvested and processed in the normal way, and the alcohol is removed at the end. It does have 0.05% alcohol in the wine by the end of the process, but that amount in a bottle of wine is negligible. This rose is perfect for lazy summer days, with a sweet rose and strawberry flavor. If you’re watching your calorie intake, this wine is for you, as it has only 33 calories in a 125ml glass. This wine can be paired with a refreshing salad, or, if you’re feeling bold, your favorite spicy foods.
Ariel Cabernet Sauvignon Non Alcoholic Red Wine
Ariel have been making non alcoholic wines since 1986, when they debuted their Ariel Blanc wine at the Los Angeles County Fair. They won the gold medal for their wine, and they’ve produced more varieties since then.
Their cabernet sauvignon, for our money, is the best one they currently produce. Oak aged, this wine has scents of blackberry, chocolate, cherry and blueberry. It has soft tannins and a dry finish, making it as good, if not better than traditional sauvignon blancs. Ariel suggest pairing this wine with manchego, carne asada, Texas chili, or wood fired pizza. It sounds perfect for autumnal evenings by the fire.
Romance en Blanc Organic White
This wine is great if you’re looking to go organic with your wine as well as your groceries. It’s made with specially sourced white grapes from Bordeaux. Half are Sauvignon Blanc, and half are Semillon. It’s a fresh, tangy and dry white wine that’s great as an aperitif, and accompanies poultry and desserts best.
These are our three top picks, but there are plenty more non-alcoholic wines out there that you should try. No matter why you’ve decided to go alcohol free with your wine, you’ll find one that will suit you and your tastes exactly. Try some out and see just why non-alcoholic wines have really taken off in the industry.[Image Credit]
