How to Cure your Alcohol Breath

When someone asks you whether or not you’ve been drinking, the obvious answer is going to be no but it’s pretty hard to lie about something like that if your breath reeks of the very thing that you are trying to deny. That’s a problem, but you know what? Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt; it’s a delicious line of foods, drinks, and other tips that will all serve to neutralize your alcohol breath. It’s not nearly as hard as you think to return your break to normal!

Tip #1: Eat Your Fill

Okay so it might not exactly be in style, but try to eat while you’re drinking. We don’t mean you need to haul a steak dinner around with you (unless that’s your fancy), but most bars provide basic food and snacks like popcorn or nuts. This will help to cover up your breath and keep you from getting sick during your night out. The best part? It’s all free, courtesy of the bar as long as you’re drinking.

Tip #2: Onion and Garlic

Onion and garlic are aromatic and that helps them in controlling your alcohol breath. Red onion is one of the most commonly used for this purpose but you can also go for garlic infused items. This includes delicacies like:

  • Garlic Fries
  • Garlic Bread
  • Garlic Knots

There are a number of other bar foods infused with garlic and you will probably, in fact discover that the available menu items all incorporate garlic or onion in some capacity. Now you know why. You can add an onion to your burger, to your salad, and if you’re looking to get the job done quickly, just eat the thing raw.

Tip #3: Take your Coffee

If you really want to make a difference in your breath, don’t forget the two most important items on this list: coffee and water. Okay so maybe you don’t want to chase your vodka with water but put aside the fear of looking ‘uncool’ for a moment. Instead, consider that water is a great way to replenish your lost hydration and also a great way to cover up the smell of booze.

Then again, maybe you just want to get ready for a date later in the evening.
